Bautte & Moynier. A Rare 18ct Rose Gold & Enamel Slim Jump Hour Open Face Keywind Pocket Watch C1825

Dial: The beautiful silver engine turned dial with an aperture at twelve o'clock for the jump hours. The concentric minute dial centred with Arabic numbers at quarter minutes. The subsidiary seconds dial located at six o'clock with a single blued steel hand showing the minutes and matching seconds hand. The minute hand is set by key on the abor of the minute hand.

Case: The exquisite case back and bezel superbly engraved with floral decorations and inlaid with black enamel,also to the pendant and bow. The inner back cover is engraved with the makers name Bautte & Moynier A Geneve and numbered. The cases are all Swiss Hallmarked and numbered.

Movement: The slim elegant movement with keywind Cylinder escapement with a hanging barrel and fast slow regulation. with the train of wheels fully visable. This was a very simplistic movement as the beauty of this watch was in the case and dial.

Jean-François Bautte (1772-1837) and Gabriel Moynier were two prominent goldsmiths of Swiss origin, who worked in partnership, as well as on their own, and crafted incredible , watches and objects of vertu. This watch is important and rare as jump hour hour watches are hard to find in such immaculate conditon. This watch is of Museum quality and it would make a fine addition to ones collection.
