Longines. A Rare Hunting Festival Rose & Green Gold Keyless Lever Full Hunter Pocket Watch C!900.

Dial: The white enamel dial signed Longines, with Arabic numerals, outer minute track and subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock The original Louis XVI style hands, rose coloured with blued steel seconds hand.

Case: The heavy (135grms) 14ct Gold case with a beautiful high relief of a huntsman and his dog shooting ducks with green gold foliage to the case. The back cover has a high relief vacant shield cartouche with Green gold foliage applied. The inner cuvette signed Longines, Grand Prix Paris 1889 with a description of the movement. The cases are all signed, numbered and Swiss hallmarked.

Movement: The three quarter plate fully jewelled movement signed Longines, with compensation balance, spiral Breguet hairspring and a very unusual snail (Colimacon) regulation for the fast and slow. The movement is protected by a mineral glass.

This is a rare watch to find in such good condition, with this unusual shooting scene to the front cover of the watch. The Swiss really enjoyed their shooting as watches were produced to honour the marksmen in the yearly shooting festivals. The were called Schützenfest. This watch would make an excellent addition to ones collection.
