A Rare Vintage, Vacheron & Constantin Twenty Dollar Double Eagle Gold coin watch, C1960s.

Dial: The original condition plain champagne black baton dial signed Vacheron & Constantin Geneve and Swiss under the six o'clock baton.

Case: The rare Twenty Dollar coin in pristine condition with little sign of wear. The coins were struck at the San Francisco branch of the US Mint, and so have an "S" mintmark on the reverse below the main design. The secret catch to open the coin and reveal the watch is located on the side of the coin. When open it reveals the watch which can tilt up so that the coin can sit on a desk.

Movement: The extra flat fully jewelled Swiss nickel finished movement signed Vacheron & Constantin. The winding and hand setting crown is located at the one o'clock position.

The $20 coin were popular coins are referred to as "Coronet Liberty" eagles. They were designed by James B. Longacre, who was chief engraver of the US Mint between 1844 and 1869. This is a rare unique piece as there are so few of these coin watches on the market. It would make a great addition to one's collection. We sell this watch with a one year guarantee.
