A Rare Vintage, Vacheron & Constantin Twenty Dollar Double Eagle Gold Coin Coronet Head Wristwatch, C1969.

Dial: The original condition plain champagne black baton dial signed Vacheron & Constantin Geneve and Swiss under the six o'clock baton. The original blued steel hands complimenting the dial beautifully.

Case: The rare Twenty Dollar coin is in pristine condition with little sign of wear. The secret catch to open the coin and reveal the watch is located on the side of the coin. When open it reveals the watch which can tilt up so that the coin can sit on a desk when not worn on the wrist.

Movement: The extra flat fully jewelled Swiss nickel finished movement signed Vacheron & Constantin with compensation balance and blued steel hairspring. The winding and hand setting crown is located at the one o'clock position.

The $20 coin were popular coins referred to as "Coronet Liberty" eagles. They were designed by James B. Longacre, who was chief engraver of the US Mint between 1844 and 1869. This wristwatch comes with an advertising card from Vacheron which states that it is the thinnest wristwatch in the world, movement only 1.64mm high. This is a rare and unique piece as there are so few of these coin wristwatches on the market. The wristwatch come with Extract of Archives. It would make a great addition to one's collection.
