Hunt & Roskell. A Heavy 18ct Yellow Gold Keyless Lever Half Hunter Pocket Watch C190.

Dial: The superb white enamel dial, Roman numerals outer minute track and subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock. The dial is interestingly signed between eleven o'clock and one o'clock Hunt & Roskell Ltd London. Usually the name was always signed in the middle of the dial under twelve o'clock. The original blued steel double spade hands and matching seconds hand complimenting the dial beautifully.

Case: The heavy (118.9 grms) 18ct yellow gold case with half hunter aperture to the front cover with inlaid blued enamel Romand numerals in excellent condition. The back cover is plain as is the inner cover. The cases are all Englished hallmarked London 1901 with the case maker being James Walton who worked at 28, Tyson Street Clerkenwell. The cases are all numbered aswell.

Movement: This fine English keyless lever three quarter plate movement with compensation balance, blued overcoil hairspring, fast slow regulation and screwed in jewelled chatons. The movement is fully signed Hunt & Roskell Ltd 156, New Bond Street.

Hunt & Roskell had a long and renowned involvement with the jewellery, watch and silver business long established in one of the finest shopping streets in the world, New Bond Street. They had the Royal warrant of Queen Victoria and many other Royal families across Europe. This is indeed a fine pocket watch with no monograms or inscriptions on the cases. This wath would make a fine addition to ones collection.
