Julius Assmann (1827-1886) came to Glashütte to work for A Lange. In 1852, Assmann founded his own factory – the J. Assmann Deutsche Anker Uhren Fabrik – for the manufacture of precision pocket watches. Assmann was good at his job, and in their time his watches were as well regarded as Lange’s. This company remained in business until 1926. This watch is one of the finest example of his craftsmanship. It would make a great addition to ones collection. We sell this watch with our own certificate of authenticity.
